Well...my computer/iPad did not like being on vacation apparently. My day 4 entry was a lot longer, but it wouldn't save and yada yada yada.
Anyway, we had the best vacation. Patrick got to surf a little, the girls got more water time than they knew what to do with, Finny slept through the night twice, we got a handle on the mosquitoes, and I was able to be a part of my best friend's wedding. You couldn't ask for anything more.
I will however document a couple of moments that are humorous now, but at the time weren't so funny. The night before the big event, Finny decided to stay up from 11:45 - 5 am. Really Finsters? You had to pick that particular day?? You crazy bug!! Then the day of the wedding went a little something like this:
1. Take a nap from 6 - 7 am. Thank you Patrick. Much needed.
2. Head to the beach to try to tire the girls out a bit.
3. Drive to Lihue to get Malasadas (Portugese donuts...yum) and mail off some cards.
4. Rush back to take a shower and blow dry my hair. Which by the way is pointless in a hot, humid environment. I was sweating so badly that it just kept getting wet. Gross.
5. Feed Fin.
6. Rush over to the hotel to help my friend get ready.
7. Steam her dress, iron a groomsmens clothes, get ready, and rush back to get Noelani ready, feed Finny and get back into the car with the girls to head out. (I told and texted Patrick what to bring for the girls to have a smooth time at the wedding).
8. Receive a panic text from Pat that he remembered to pack the girls but forgot everything else like food, diapers, wipes. You know...the important stuff.
9. Have Patrick drop Noe off at the venue, get her ready, send him off to the general store across the street to get everything to make it through the night. $59 later, we are set.
10. Get Nena in her dress, throw on some lip gloss and we are off.
Noelani did an awesome job as flower girl, Elena made a beautiful bride and the night could not have been more perfect. The day...well..the jury is still out on that one. ;) But overall, it was a great trip. We scored perfect weather, warm water, I was able to spend time with my best friends (Patrick being #1) and we have a ton of great memories!
