Organics

Noelani and I went on a tour of the Tanaka Farm in Irvine, and
we were able to sample some seriously yummy organic
fruits and veggies. They took us around in this tractor-
pulled wagon which stopped at all the different crops, and would
give us a taste right out of the ground (dipped in water to rinse of course).

Here's Noe trying some yellow watermelon. I think she liked it, since
she ate mine, hers and tried to eat the baby's next to us. Oops!

Just another shot of our little bruiser.

Shiners and smiles

Noelani received her first "shiner" last week. She loves to put blankets, towels, dirty laundry, etc. on her head and walk around like a zombie. She always manages to slam into something just before we can take it off her. So last week was no different. Beach towel on the head, tripping occurred, and WHAM! She slammed into her rocking chair. We didn't think anything of it, until 2 hours later when her eye puffed up and had a little raspberry. Poor baby. She looks like a little bruiser. :0

We had our niece and nephew for a couple of days last week. Noe had a blast helping Tyler wax his board and giving Mandy a massage. ;)

Here's Noe and Mandy enjoying a little splash time. In their twin bathing suits.

Noe's newest favorite game is falling on her buns in the grass and yelling "boom".
Awww the joys of being a kid.

Beachy kind of morning

Yesterday Noe and I spent the morning at the beach.

We did a little yoga,

took a little walk,

and when we heard the ice cream truck we HAD to get a push-up (Noe's first).

Horton Family Picnic

This past weekend we had our Horton family picnic. It was down at our Aunt Laurie's in Carlsbad. It was soooooo amazing!! They live right on the beach and all you have to do to paddle out is walk down some stairs. So wonderful. I think we all want to move in!!

We were able to hang out with each other, if only for a minute.

The two beautiful Horton girls ~ Grandma and Auntie Norma.

Here's Marshall with the family surf tribe. It's so awesome to see all the kids playing together. I don't think there were any punches thrown or tears shed for the entire day!!
"So what you're saying is that I have dip on my face?" Hanging with Mama.

The cutest parents alive.

Our first paddle out together since January. It was soooooooooo fun hooting and hollering for each other.

Marshall hanging 10 .

Noe and Auggie keeping busy and organizing the drinks.

Noe playing "peek a boo".

What a wonderful weekend. We all were surfed/played out. You need those days with family, without worries and without drama. Man we are so blessed!

Attack of the Sting Ray

Pat has been surfing every morning around 6am. It's so great to see him so stoked on surfing again. He's so much happier and he has that little boy gleam back. Thursday morning he came home early, because he had gotten stung by a sting ray. Ouch!! I got the hot water ready to soak his foot and all is well.

Lesson #56 ~ Always shuffle your feet when walking out to surf (even though Pat got stung as he bailed off his board). Sting Rays =1 Patrick =0 :(

Happy and You Know it!!

Noe's favorite spot these days in under our dining room table. How she gets there is the source of much concern. She climbs over that bar and then face plants onto the hardwood floor every time. We're gonna have to get her a neck brace one of these days.

Noe just started to do the moves to "If you're happy and you know it". Please forgive my singing skills, or lack there of, but I think she's happy.

Skills

Tonight after dinner Noe and I went out front to practice our soccer skills. And this is how it went. :)
We looked for bugs...

We sat on the ball...

We ran with the ball...

We had a conversation with our hand.

She did kick the ball a couple of times, but all the other stuff was way more fun to watch. ;)

Lessons Learned

Ok, so did I learn nothing from my nephew's Sharpie incident?  I left Noe alone for 3 minutes while I rinsed out the bathtub.  When I noticed it was really quiet I went to the living room to check on her.  And so it begins...she had colored all over one of our blankets.  Thank goodness for washable crayons!!!!

Here's Noe practicing the ancient art of Chinese cupping on Daddy's back.

Don't Tell PETA

My parents' have 4 turtles that they've inherited from friends. They have their own little habitat in the backyard where they get the royal treatment ~ fresh fruits and vegetables, and worms for dessert. Oh to come back as a pet in the Wilcox household. :) Well, Noe had her first experience with the turtles and decided to stick her finger right in one of their faces, not realizing that her fingers are just about the size of the worms. Oops. But her reaction was such a joy to see. She would get up close and then do a turtle dance.

I just love this clip, because you can see Noe's little feet and hear her saying "worms! worms! worms!". You also hear the turtle-whisperer (my Mom) in the background.

Auntie, Kenny and D

My Sister's family (minus Uncle Craig) came down for some Noe time and a little school shopping. Here's Noelani hanging with Auntie Kim in the front yard with a random toothbrush. You should have seen her. She absolutely loved her cousin Kenny (Mackenzee) this trip. The first thing out of her mouth this morning was "Kenny!" and she completely lost it when they drove away. Full sobbing with real tears. Needless to say, she's gonna miss that little lady. ;) She wasn't too sure of Dalton, but that's just because he was more interested in his video games. :)

Newport with Henry

Noelani and I went to Newport Beach on Tuesday to hangout with the Haxel family. I danced with Jesica way back in the day, and we were also roomies in college for 3 years. Her little boy Henry, is 4 months younger than Noe, and just about the same size. They had a great time covering every single thing we had down on the beach with sand, and Jesica and I had a great time laughing and catching up.
